If your facility is dealing with a suspected gastroenteritis (vomiting and diarrhoea) outbreak please submit the form below to notify public health. We can then provide guidance on how best to stop the outbreak and prevent further illness amongst staff and residents.

You should submit this form if:

  • There are two or more cases of acute gastroenteritis in 48 hours at your aged residential care facility
  • There are two or more cases of acute gastroenteritis linked to a common source (i.e. a specific meal) or event that took place (e.g. a celebration event) at your aged residential care facility

We will aim to respond to you within one working day. For urgent queries please call (09) 623 6400 and ask for the Health Protection Officer on duty.

Independent living services are not required to notify public health of a gastroenteritis outbreak.
