Surveillance and monitoring of data on infectious diseases.

Auckland Regional Public Health Service (ARPHS) collects and analyses data on the incidence and spread of notifiable diseases for the Tāmaki Makaurau region.

Our surveillance team reports regularly on a range of diseases. This information is used for:

  • assessing the impact of disease on different communities
  • managing outbreaks and monitoring interventions,
  • predicting emerging hazards,
  • informing policy and service decisions by health and local government organisations

We plan to have regular data for some of the more prevalent diseases here in future.

The latest annual surveillance report is the 2018 Auckland Region Communicable Diseases Surveillance Report.
