Auckland Regional Public Health Service (ARPHS) has confirmed that two Auckland schools and a pre-school have been closed due to a confirmed case of COVID-19 at each of the facilities.

Glamorgan School in Torbay, Southern Cross Campus in Mangere East, and Taeaofou | Puaseisei Preschool, also in Mangere East, have all been closed while ARPHS carries out its investigations.

ARPHS is currently working with the schools and preschool to identify close contacts of the confirmed cases, and the three school and preschool communities are being advised of the closures.

An Auckland Regional Public Health Service spokesperson says staff and families have been advised to stay in self-isolation until they hear from the service with advice on what to do next.

Everyone from the two schools and preschool should remain vigilant for the symptoms of COVID-19, which can include one or more of the following:

• New or worsening cough

• Runny nose

• Fever

• Sore throat

• Difficulty breathing

• Temporary loss of smell

Anyone experiencing these symptoms – whether or not they attend one of these three education facilities – should free phone Healthline for advice: 0800 358 5453.

More information is available on the COVID-19 and Auckland Regional Public Health Service websites.
