General Practitioner
I am a GP who works across several areas within the Health Protection team. I help control germs such as tuberculosis and legionella, and follow up when there are notifications of other diseases.
I was raised and studied in Auckland and thrived in the community setting, so I specialised in general practice. As a GP, I worked overseas, then in Whangarei and I am now back in Auckland. I have also worked at the Refugee Health Screening Service, undertaking health screening and management of health conditions in newly arrived refugees or asylum seekers.
I appreciate the community-wide perspective that working in public health gives to disease prevention and control, including how we can work to improve health for all.
