Auckland Regional Public Health Service
Ratonga Hauora-ā-Iwi ō Tāmaki Makaurau
I am accountable for providing leadership and advice to support the delivery of Pacific Health gain across Tāmaki Makaurau. I work closely and collaboratively with ARPHS' Pacific and Public Health Advisor, other Senior Managers, Clinical Partners and Pacific peoples across the Service to provide operational support from a Pacific perspective. My focus areas include recruitment, workforce development and training, strategy and planning, service delivery, and emergency and pandemic response planning.
I have a nursing background and for 18 years I worked in both frontline and leadership roles within Counties Manukau Health’s Middlemore Hospital.
I joined ARPHS in June 2020 to support the Covid-19 Response as an Operations Manager. I then moved into the Communicable Disease Control Team as Charge Nurse. Through the Covid-19 pandemic and response I developed my appreciation for how vital Public Health is in improving population health and, more specifically, the health of Pacific peoples and our communities.
